Productivity

Getting Stuff done!
...and sometimes, getting nothing done is more productive

Information systems and knowledge networks are worthless if they do not help convert decisions into actions that do something useful. Sometimes, productivity gains come from unexpected sources...

I heard the following snippet during a Gartner presentation in 2005:

Senior I.T. managers and CIOs do not believe they can transform their business to a real-time enterprise within a decade (83%)... but they think a brand new start-up could! (57%)

The technologies are available to build a real-time business - one able to adapt its strategy and business plans in response to real-time changes in market conditions. But it takes more than just technology to build a real-time enterprise.  Culture and processes need to change too.
