Off to the SharePoint conference

I'll be in Seattle from 2nd to 6th March attending the Microsoft SharePoint conference. It's going to be interesting to see what it's like, with over 3,000 people attending. I've been with SharePoint since it was little more than a planned add-on to Exchange and ignored by the serious techies. It's come a long way in the past 9 years. Funny seeing people write about Google Sites as a technology that goes under the radar of the IT dept. That's how SharePoint started (as do most new collaborative technologies).

If you're going to be at the conference, let me know and say hi if you see me wandering about. And if you are in Seattle, be warned. I've got a hire car booked... (I'm a rubbish/nervous driver and I've got to remember to drive on the other side of the road.)

[Update: 02 Mar] Well, apart from nearly running someone over when turning left onto Seneca St this morning, the driving is going quite well. Apart from occasionally whacking the door with my left hand when I go to try and change gear :-) (doubly pointless given it's an automatic.) And yes, I did start by getting into the wrong side of the car and wondering where the steering wheel was. Doh!
